The Carolina Forest Swim Team is on a whirlwind of success, and the Panthers are showing that they are a team to watch this season!

Results from the Panther Invitational on August 29, with 12 teams from across the area for an exciting day of racing. The Panthers made the most of the opportunity, with both the girls’ and boys’ teams capturing FIRST PLACE!

Even more impressive was the incredible improvement throughout the team. Panther swimmers combined for an astonishing 40 high school career personal-best times — a tremendous accomplishment that shows just how much this young team continues to grow.

Individual highlights included first-place finishes from:

Olivia Capuzzi and Kevin Black Jr. – 200 Freestyle
Daniel Marcos – 200 Individual Medley
Macie Mosley and Kevin Black Jr. – 500 Freestyle
The meet was capped off by a dominant performance from the girls’ 200 Freestyle Relay, bringing home another first-place finish for the Panthers!

There wasn’t much time to celebrate, as the Panthers were back in the water Tuesday, traveling to Summerville on September 1, for a triple-dual meet against Cane Bay, Berkeley and Socastee.

Once again, Carolina Forest delivered.

The Panthers won the meet overall, with the boys sweeping all three of their dual matchups. The girls defeated both Socastee and Berkeley and came within just two points of taking down Cane Bay.

With these teams meeting again at the Regional Championship later this month, Tuesday’s competition provided an exciting preview of what is still to come.

Olivia Capuzzi and Kevin Black Jr. – 500 Freestyle
Gabi Suarez – 100 Breaststroke
Girls’ and Boys’ 200 Freestyle Relays
Girls’ and Boys’ 400 Freestyle Relays
While the first-place finishes are exciting, perhaps the biggest story from both meets has been the continued improvement throughout the entire roster. Personal-best times are dropping, younger swimmers are stepping into bigger roles, and the Panthers are developing tremendous depth.

To top the week off, both boys and girls team took 1st place in the St James Invitational on September 5.

For a young team, Carolina Forest is racing with confidence, energy and determination — and that depth could prove to be one of the Panthers’ greatest strengths as they head toward the championship portion of the season.

The Panthers are getting faster, getting stronger, and just getting started!
