Carolina Forest High School is proud to announce the transition of Coach Chase Alfman to the Girls Volleyball program following a highly successful three-year run with the Boys Volleyball team.
During his tenure, Coach Alfman led the boys’ team to an extraordinary overall record of 88-9-4. His leadership brought home three consecutive 5A Region Championships, two Lower State titles, and two State Championship Game appearances. In 2023, he made state history by becoming the first Boys’ Volleyball coach in South Carolina to record a 30-win season, finishing 33-4-5. Most recently, the team capped off another standout season with a 33-4 record, securing a third straight region title and reaching the South Carolina 5A Lower State Championship.
Coach Alfman was named the 2022 South Carolina 5A Region 5 Coach of the Year, further cementing his status as one of the top volleyball minds in the state.
Alfman began his coaching career with the Girls Volleyball program at Beaufort High School and has continued to impact the sport at the club level. He coached the Coast United 16 Boys’ National Team during his first two years in Myrtle Beach, leading them to multiple gold medals in regional tournaments. This past year, he also guided the GSJ Myrtle Beach 15s girls travel team.
A former Club Volleyball player at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Coach Alfman remains deeply engaged in all facets of the game, including indoor, beach, and grass volleyball.
