The boys' swim team finished 3rd at the Ripley's Invitational Saturday. The 200 medley relay team of Kyran Vitharana, Nick Kowalczyk, Daniel Marcos, and Jordan Henderson started things off with a 2nd place finish. The 200 free relay team of Kowalczyk, Vitharana, Ryan Markham, and Luis Reyes Flores finished 3rd, as did the 400 free relay team of Henderson, Marcos, Markham, and Reyes-Flores. All three relay teams turned in state consideration times.
In individual event action, the team received point contributions from seven different swimmers! Markham and Robbie Barnhill both scored in the 500 free. Henderson scored in the 200 free and the 50 free (both state consideration times). Kowalczyk scored in the 100 fly and the 100 breaststroke (both state consideration times). Marcos scored in the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke (3rd place in the breaststroke; both times were state consideration times). Reyes Flores scored in the 100 fly. Vitharana had the most successful day with a 3rd place finish in the 50 free and a 1st place finish in the 100 back (both state consideration times).
The Panthers return to the pool this Saturday when they host the Panther Invitational at Pepper Geddings.
